The influence of culture, ethnicity, family dynamics, education and experience on the development of the individual are core topics.

Statistics 1

This module emphasizes graphic and numerical descriptive statistics for summarizing characteristics of data distributions and the use of EXCEL spreadsheets for the recording of data and for data analysis. Students also learn correlational techniques, the inferential statistics of three varieties of t- tests and the two forms of chi square inferential tests. Throughout, a practical and functional understanding of the use of statistics is emphasized.

Personality and Abnormal Psychology

In this module, students examine the primary theories of human personality and theories and descriptions of abnormal behaviour, particularly as related to clinical/health psychology.  The focus is on various treatments for and the prevention of common clinical/health related problems in the context of personality theory. Severe mental disorders are NOT considered. Special consideration is given to World Health Organization writings on these topics.

Clinical and Health Psychology

This module emphasizes the cultural understanding of physical and mental illness, wellness and health.  The course will examine mental health interventions strategies that focus on cultural, religious, and political sensitivities of the country.  The emphasis is on common problems like depression and anxiety, drug addiction, stress, etc., not on major mental disorders.

This module provides students an opportunity on how to go about managing situations in real life settings. The case scenarios provided in this module offer a range of situations that though they are friction situations, such situations can happen at work place settings or even in school settings. This module focuses on three aspects namely, Clinical and Health Psychology, Conflict Resolution and Organizational Psychology. For this module, there will be a plenty of opportunity for role plays and group discussions to enhance your learning opportunity.

Psychological Research

The primary focus of this module is psychological research, tests, and measurement as applied to psychology, particularly the understanding of interpretation of epidemiological techniques and data analysis.

Graduation Project
