Celebratory Moments at MDIS TashkentLatest News

The year 2017 marked the 10th Anniversary of MDIS in Tashkent. A concert dedicated to the occasion was held on 13 October and was attended by honourable guests from various local partner organisations, as well as delegates from MDIS Singapore and university partners. The concert encompassed cultural dances, songs and performances; staff, lecturers and students showed off their superb skills by singing and performing Uzbek national dances.

This year also marked MDIS Tashkent’s 7th graduating cohort. Themed “Dare to challenge. Dare to succeed!” the graduation ceremony, held in October reflected the achievements and successes of MDIS Tashkent graduands.

This year, 494 students received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bangor University and the University of Sunderland.

Ms Dinara Komilova, First Class Honours student from the Banking and Finance programme, shared words of wisdom in her graduation speech: “Believe in yourself and you can do everything, even more than what you dream you can. The roots of education is bitter but the fruit is sweet.”

Another top student, Mr Isakov Dilshodbek said, “No life is greater than a life enriched with education… it makes one stronger, more confident and creative. MDIS Tashkent was a journey of motivation and self-discovery… we faced challenging tasks but we learnt very important concepts of responsibility, teamwork and professionalism.”

Since its establishment in 2007, MDIS Tashkent has provided education opportunities for more than two thousand specialists in accounting; banking and finance; business and enterprise management; business and marketing; industrial management; and tourism and hospitality management. More than 90% of the Institute’s graduates are successfully employed by commercial banks, state and private organisations, as well as in international companies operating in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad. MDIS Tashkent has successfully implemented international education standards, increased the number of faculties,  and expanded partnerships with potential employers.

Plans are in place to build a new four-storey academic building on its new adjourning premises for new education programmes and facilities.

Congratulations to all graduates!
