Students under this pathway will undertake the Educational Leadership module following module in addition to the four core modules above.

Students under this pathway will undertake Placement module in addition to the four core modules above.

1. Full-time MA Education Studies: Total of 111 Face-to-Face Contact Hours
*Distance Learning hours not included

• Adult Learners – theory/Method (Fly-in) @ 30 Hours
• Research Methods (Fly-in faculty) @ 30 Hours
• Intercultural Education @ 12 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Dissertation @ 12 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Placement / Education Leadership @ 12 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Additional 15-hours intensive workshop on Academic Writing (with Harvard Referencing) and Critical Thinking Skills

2. Part-time MA Education Studies: Total of 75 Face-to-Face Contact Hours
*Distance Learning hours not included

• Adult Learners – theory/Method (Fly-in) @ 30 Hours
• Research Methods (Fly-in faculty) @ 30 Hours
• Intercultural Education @ 0 Hours (Full Distance Learning) + 5 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Dissertation @ 0 Hours (Full Distance Learning) + 5 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Placement / Education Leadership @ 0 Hours (Full Distance Learning) + 5 Hours (by Local Tutor on top of Distance Learning)
• Additional ONLINE (15-hours) intensive workshop on Academic Writing (with Harvard Referencing) and Critical Thinking Skills – not inclusive in the 75 face-to-Face Contact Hours.

 

Entry Requirements

All applicants must be age 21 and above, and must obtain one of the following requirements:

• A UK Bachelor Degree with at least a lower 2nd class honours classification OR
• An overseas degree-level qualification and grade which are equivalent to a UK honours degree with a 2nd class grade. A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience is required. OR
• Candidates without a degree or required grade may also be considered on the basis of possessing other qualifications and having at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Education

Other requirements:

• One academic reference
• One employer reference
• Personal statement/statement of purpose

 

English Language Requirements

Applicants are required to meet one of the following requirements:

IELTS 6.0 (with no element below 5.5)

OR

TOEFL internet based test (IBT) 75 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 18)

OR

Pearson PTE 56 (no element lower than 51)

OR

Cambridge English Test Advanced - 169 (no element below 162)

OR

MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE)

OR

Pass MDIS English Placement Test

OR 

Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English

OR

Equivalent
