Programme Objectives 

  • Provide a flexible structured programme of study to improve English language skills and communications skills of the participants
  • Provide a sound knowledge base in basic business studies and introduce fundamental business concepts
  • Encourage the development of a creative attitude, an open mind and business-relevant awareness
  • Motivate participants to understand how organisations are managed effectively and how to launch and sustain their managerial career

Assessment Methods

Based on written examinations, assignments, presentation/projects.

Graduation

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded the Foundation Year Certificate by MDIS.

Graduation Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year Certificate at MDIS, graduates will be equipped with the essential academic skills and knowledge required for progression into higher education.

This foundational programme provides a solid base for students to pursue undergraduate degrees in various fields, including Business, Information Technology and more.

Graduates are well-prepared to take on the challenges of a university degree, with a strong understanding of critical thinking, problem-solving and academic writing, ensuring a smooth transition to their chosen path.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be of age 17 and above and possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:

Obtained at least Grade C6 in any of the 5 GCE "O" Level subjects or equivalent 

OR

International applicants must have completed 10 years of formal education

 

English Language Requirements

Applicants are required to possess one of the following:

All applicants must possess a D7 in English at GCE ‘O’ Levels or equivalent

OR

A minimum band of 5.5 in IELTS 

OR

Obtained at least paper based 525 for TOEFL

OR

MDIS Certificate in English (Upper-Intermediate)

OR

Achieve a minimum score of 95 and above in Duolingo English Test

OR

Equivalent

 

Student Pass Application

International students are required to apply for a student pass if he/she wishes to study full-time in Singapore.
