Diploma in Fine Jewellery Design (Enhanced)Awarded by: MDIS
Objectives
In today’s competitive jewellery industry, the only way to excel is through unique and saleable design. No longer can a jewellery designer work independently of the manufacturer and retailer; successful designers understand their materials and gems, know about style, trends and fashion, and must produce stunningly beautiful, but also wearable, commercially viable jewels.
This comprehensive and focused qualification ensures students have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to develop jewellery lines using classical design and digital design techniques and communicate those designs to jewellery manufacturers in order to ensure accurate production and budgeting.
With great emphasis on experiential learning, graduates have knowledge, style and a complete professional portfolio to highlight their broad range of design competencies.
This ‘Enhanced’ variation of the Fine Jewellery Design Diploma includes additional holistic projects that utilise information from all course modules and their successful completion represents not only skills competence, but synthesis of learning and effective practical application of those skills. Enhanced project modules include periods of instructor supervision, peer assessment and formal project assessments.
