MDIS Workshop: Discovering the Art of Silkscreen Printing

Silkscreen printing, also known as screen printing, is one of the most preferred printing techniques in apparel design. Over the years, it has evolved and companies use this method to print on other materials such as plastics, papers and wood. To use silkscreen printing, all you need is a silkscreen template with the desired design. Designers will be able to create unique designs with better quality and well-defined details with screen printing.

Understanding Silkscreen Printing Techniques

To introduce our MDIS College students to the fashion industry, MDIS School of Fashion and Design conducted a Silkscreen Printing Workshop with exciting hands-on experience. The workshop was designed to equip students with better understanding of this cost-efficient printing method, as compared to digital printing.

Introduction to silkscreen printing

Let the fun begin!

After the insightful introduction of silkscreen printing, the students were provided with materials to create their personalised silk screens. The hands-on experience helped to enhance their understanding of the printing method. They were given the opportunity to get creative, making this a fun-filled workshop to discover and experiment with new things.
