Diploma in Business Computing

About the Course
Course Curriculum
Local Application

Objectives

The increased usage of computers in support of business information system has created problems for traditionally educated managers in present day industry and commerce. They may be trained in management techniques but may have little knowledge of the capabilities and the rapid changes in modern computing. On the other hand, they can come up via the computing/information systems route with little understanding of how an organisation runs. What is needed in a training education course is that it should cover both aspects and produce graduates who are potentially “hybrid” managers.

Our Business Computing course provides such training. It combines core modules in Computing with specialised modules in business and management. The areas covered include finance and accounting, business, economics, marketing, business information systems and international business.

The programme is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a computing environment with the following objectives:
  • To equip participants with the ability to handle the challenges of managing across national borders
  • To inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship and venture into international business arena

Assessment Methods

All modules will be assessed by assignments and examinations

Graduation and Degree/Certificate/Diploma

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded with the Diploma in Business Computing awarded by MDIS, an Associate Institute of University of Bradford, UK.
