Can Safety Culture Change People's Behaviour?

Safety culture is a big concept to understand. It refers to the safety norms or habits of employees in an organisation.

To change the culture of a society, it is important to motivate a change of belief in the people. In this case, it means changing the belief system of the employees. Thus, if the employee believes in the value of safety and saving life with prevention of injuries, the employee will work in a safe manner. Changing the belief system, makes one job safer and hence changes how one behaves at work. In a nutshell, a safety culture indeed changes the value system of belief and thus leading to the change of behaviour of the worker to work safely. Yes, safety culture do change the behaviour of people at work.
