School of Media & Communications

DIPLOMA

Diploma in Mass Communications
(Jointly awarded by MDIS and Oklahoma City University, USA )


Objectives

  • To equip participants with more in-depth understanding of specialised Mass Communications subjects
  • To enhance the effectiveness of participants’ practical skills and techniques through action-based training
  • To enable participants to pursue an undergraduate degree in the field of Mass Communications

Structure and Duration

Day Programme
  • 8 modules and 1 project
  • 8 months
  • 4-5 days per week

Evening Programme

  • 8 modules and 1 project
  • Minimum 12 months
  • 1 to 3 evenings a week (depending on the number of modules taken, up to a maximum of 3 modules per term)


Assessment Methods

Each module is assessed by assignment (20%), class participation (10%) and an examination (70%).

Graduation and Degree/Certificate/Diploma

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded with the Diploma in Mass Communications jointly awarded by MDIS and Oklahoma City University, USA.

Entry Requirements

Interested applicants must possess ONE of the following entrance requirements:
  • 5 GCE 'O' Level credit

        OR

  • Partial GCE 'A' Level Certificate (Less than 2 'A' and 2 'AO' passes)

        OR

  • Professional Certificate in Marketing & Communications Management from MDIS or other recognised local/overseas Polytechnics or other Private Education Institutes (PEI)

        OR

  • ITE Higher NITEC, CBS or ITC holder

Applicants who are unable to meet the minimum admission requirements may enroll for the Diploma in Mass Communications Incorporating Professional Certificate in Marketing & Communications Management
