Objectives

Assessment Methods
Students are assessed in each unit by various methods. These include researched essays and reports, reports, presentation, case studies, problem solutions portfolio, online discussions, tests and exams.
Students may also be asked to participate in group work as well as individuals assignments. The weighting of assessment marks between assignments and examination varies.
Graduation and Degree/Certificate/Diploma
Candidates who successfully complete all coursework and pass the examinations will be awarded the MDIS Diploma in International Business recognised by Southern Cross University for the purpose of advanced standing into certain Southern Cross University's courses subject to the University’s rules and regulation.

The module equips students with data processing and application of statistical methods in business forecasting. Students should be able to analyse different business situations using the various theories and models to arrive at business decisions.
Principles of Business Management
The module provides students with a concise understanding of current management concepts and processes that enables effective management in specific
Business Accounting
The module introduces students to the role of accounting in business operations, statutory requirements for business to prepare accounts. It also covers on the purpose and the elements of a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. Students will be able to prepare financial statements for business enterprise at the end of the module.
Fundamentals of Information Technology
The module equips students with fundamental concepts of computer, adequate knowledge of business computing concepts, hardware and software components, and information processing skills. Students should be able to perform essential information processing tasks in business environments upon completion of the module
Organisational Behaviour
The module introduces students to various behavioural disciplines contributing to organisational behaviour. It also covers the theory and concepts in analysing organisational issues and problems and to make informed decisions that will increase effectiveness and efficiency at the workplace.
Business Law
The module provides students with a comprehensive insight into the law governing business activities. Students should have the knowledge to understand the basic, simple business contracts and the implications of legal situations. The content covers Contract Law; Consumer Protection’ Law of Insolvency’ Intellectual Property Law’ Land Law, etc.
Principles of Marketing
The module provides students with an understanding of the principles and core concepts of marketing. It also imparts knowledge o how marketers manage demand and builds customers relationships’ understanding the challenges facing marketers in a globalised economy. The content covers Market Segmentation; Product Life Cycle; Distribution Channels and Marketing Communication Strategy, etc.
Internet & E-Commerce
The module provides students with an understanding of the internet and key concepts of e-commerce along with its implementations and impact on business. Students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the applications of the internet, explain e-commerce and its underlying concepts and principles, differentiate the different models and types of e-commerce applications and design a workable e-commerce website at the end of the module.

Additional Criteria
Applicants without C6 pass in English (EL1) at GCE 'O'/'N' Levels as First Language or its equivalent are required:-

Application Procedure
International student is required to apply for student pass if he/she wishes to study full-time in Singapore.

MDIS permits students to pay their course fee in instalments. An administrative charge of S$107.00 (inclusive of GST) will be levied on each late instalment payment of the course fee. Fees are payable upon confirmation and acceptance of the place in the programme before the programme commencement. You may pay your fee by cash, NETS, VISA, MasterCard, AMEX or by cheque or through our financial assistance scheme.If payment is by cheque, please indicate the details of the programme applied for on the back of the cheque, stating clearly you personal particulars and company name. Unless otherwise stated, all fees are inclusive of GST.
Please note that under the Private Education Act, all students will enter into a Fee Protection Scheme contract with MDIS.
