COURSES

School of Technology & E-Learning
 

The School of Technology and E-Learning (STEL) is one of the academic schools in MDIS tasked to train and equip Information Technology (IT) professionals in both academic education and professional skills development.

Established in 2002, the School aims to help students in Singapore and throughout the region gain a foothold in the IT industry by providing a comprehensive suite of programmes that focus on a broad-based, holistic education that is highly sought after by the industry.

All programmes delivered through STEL are from well-accredited and renowned universities. The School works closely with employers and universities to ensure its programmes are relevant, rigorous and of high quality. The curricula are regularly reviewed and kept up to date in line with current developments in the IT industry; thereby preparing students with practical skills and knowledge highly desired by employers when they make their transition into their professional life. Students are also taught by lecturers who have more than 10 years of corporate and training experience with proven track record in passing rates.

True to its aim of providing a technology-driven education, STEL's students are the first to embark on the MDIS' Blackboard Learning Management System - an e-learning and community platform, where students can access lecturers' notes, correspond with their lecturers, participate in on-line discussion and even view video-recorded classes during examination revision.

The School offers varied and niche programmes in Information Technology to meet the growing demands of today's fast moving society. It produces graduates who are able to secure advanced standing in many good universities worldwide, as well as graduates who are much sought after by the industry. In addition, STEL also has a pipeline of new programs to be launched on a timely basis. Needless to say, such programs are expected to be practical oriented that is highly sought after by any industry that needs IT savvy staff.
