Distinguished Guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen and Fellow Graduands,

1  My name is Radhakrishnan Nakiran and I am from the 2017 graduating class of the MBA programme. It is a great honour for me to stand here today and speak on behalf of the graduates at this graduation ceremony.

2  Our accomplishment today was never our effort alone; therefore I believe we have much to be thankful for. We are thankful to MDIS and the University of Bradford for providing the platform for us to advance our studies. We thank our lecturers for their invaluable guidance. We thank our parents and family for being so supportive and caring. And, last but not least, we thank our dear friends for the motivation and encouragement that we had given one another to reach our goal.

3  Personally, I would like to thank my family, my employer and all my professors, lecturers and MDIS staff of the postgraduate student services for the care and support during my journey towards the MBA programme.  My special thanks to my project supervisor Mr Darwin Joseph for his valuable guidance. Lastly, a very special thanks to Dr Eric Kuan for his motivational talks during our lectures.  His talks have inspired us to deliver our best inspite of the challenges we faced. Thank you, Dr Kuan.

4  We have learnt a lot from the course and are inspired to think independently and yet worked collaboratively as team members.

5  As we move forward in our lives, it is important that we do not limit ourselves and be tempted to simply remain in our comfort zones. We need to develop and nurture our knowledge and skills to stand out in this globalised world. These enrichments will expand our vision and prepare us for new challenges.

6  Completion of a degree is never an end to learning; we will continue to learn different lessons under different circumstances in different ways. Our time at MDIS was one such phase of learning which we can all be truly thankful for.

7  I thank each one of you for sharing this beautiful moment with us. In closing, I would like to invite everyone to give a round of applause to the graduates.

8  From this day on, we will venture into a whole new world of learning.

Thank you.
