Refund/Withdrawal/Transfer/Deferment Policy

MDIS Pte Ltd and MDIS College Pte Ltd collect course fees in accordance to the fees structure stipulated in the Standard PEI-Student Contract. An administrative charge of S$100.00 (excluding GST 7%) will be levied on each late instalment payment of the course fees. Fees are payable after the Standard PEI-Student Contract has been signed by the student.

Payments can be made by cash, NETS (with maximum of S$2,000 per transaction per day), VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, Telegraphic Transfer (TT) or by Cheque. For TT / cheque payment, please indicate the name of the student, passport number and the programme applied for.

International students must read and understand the Refund Policy, Withdrawal Policy, Transfer Policy, Deferment Policy and Expulsion and Disciplinary Matters of MDIS Pte Ltd and MDIS College Pte Ltd.

 

Refund Policy

Any request for a refund of course fees paid before / after course commencement shall be subject to the refund policy:

0% More than 14 days after the Course Commencement Date

***Note: The above percentage is to be applied to the standard first instalment amount payable for the particular course. If the actual payment exceeds the first instalment amount, the excess amount shall be fully refunded. If the first instalment payment is less than the standard first instalment due, the course fee shortage shall be collected from the student.

A cooling-off period of seven (7) working days is applicable for a maximum refund from the date when the contract was signed.

The above refund policy also applies to company-sponsored students.

MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) will assess and reply to any request for withdrawal within a time frame of not more than 4 weeks. All refunds shall be made within seven (7) working days following approval of the student’s request for withdrawal.

 

Refunds for Withdrawal with Cause

MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) shall inform the student immediately within three (3) working days if:

i. It fails, for any reason, to commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
ii. It terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to the Course Commencement Date;
iii. It fails, for any reason, to complete the Course on or before the Course Completion Date;
iv. It terminates the Course, for any reason, prior to Course Completion Date;
v. It has not ensured that the student meets the course entry or matriculations requirement as set by the organisation stated  in Schedule A (Standard PEI-Student Contract) within any stipulated timeline set by CPE; or
vi. The Student’s Pass application has been rejected by the ICA.

MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) shall, within seven (7) working days of notifying the student in writing of above circumstances (i) to (vi), provide the student with information and details of an alternative confirmed course arrangement to allow the student to make a timely and appropriate decision.

Students who are affected by the above circumstances (i) to (vi) shall be entitled to immediately withdraw from the course by giving written notice to MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) of his / her intention to do so.

In the event of the above circumstances (i) to (vi), MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) shall, within seven (7) working days after notifying the student, refund the student the total amount of course fees paid (as received by MDIS Pte Ltd / MDIS College Pte Ltd from student towards payment of course fees).

 

Withdrawal Policy

Request for programme withdrawal must be made in writing. A written notice of withdrawal from the programme (“Withdrawal Letter”) must be delivered to the Student Care and Administration (SCA) Department at MDIS Campus, 501 Stirling Road, Singapore 148951.

Note: For College programs, a written notice of withdrawal should be sent to MDIS College Pte Ltd.

Students with genuine financial difficulties who wish to withdraw from the course should submit a written letter to MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) for consideration. All requests must be supported with documentary evidence. Upon the final decision of MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd), the Institute shall inform the students of the outcome in writing within (7) seven working days.

All discounts/rebates that the students were entitled to shall be forfeited. All non-tuition fees, where applicable, are payable upon withdrawal.

MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) shall within seven (7) working days of receipt of the Withdrawal Letter, send the student an acknowledgement of the request to the address stated in the Withdrawal Letter. If no address is stated, the letter will be sent to the address stated in the enrolment form. For the purpose of course fee being refunded, the official date of receipt of the student’s written notice of withdrawal will be the date of receipt of the Withdrawal Letter which has been duly acknowledged by MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd).

MDIS Pte Ltd (or MDIS College Pte Ltd) will assess and reply to any request for withdrawal within a time frame of not more than 4 weeks.

 

Transfer Policy

If a student who has been accepted by MDIS Pte Ltd decides to transfer to another school/ institute/university before or after course commencement, a written notice of transfer must be given to the Student Care and Administration (SCA) at MDIS Campus, 501 Stirling Road, Singapore 148951. This request shall be subject to the MDIS Refund Policy.

A. Transfer within MDIS Pte Ltd but to a different course/downgrading

- Such requests must be submitted before or after commencement of classes. If a request for transfer is made after commencement of class, the refund policy shall apply accordingly

- SCA shall ensure that the student has no outstanding fees payable to the Institute before accepting such transfer requests.  The student shall be advised to make good any outstanding fees before the Institute processes his/her transfer request. Should the student have any inquiries, SCA co-ordinator will check with Finance on the same day and Finance will reply to SCA with one (1) working day.

- All requests for transfer to a different course within MDIS Pte Ltd or downgrading of academic course must be submitted in writing and supported with an application fee of S$107 (includes GST).

- Any excess course fees received from the student shall be refunded as per the policy

- Any further change of programmes required by the same student, an application fees of S$267.50 (includes GST) is chargeable.

MDIS Pte Ltd will assess and reply to any request for transfer within a time frame of not more than four (4) weeks.

 

Course Deferment

  • All requests for course deferment must be made in writing and supported with application fees of S$107.00 (including GST). Students should send their requests for deferment one (1) month prior to the commencement of the term that the student is deferring. All requests must be supported with documentary evidence.

 

  • Application submitted after the commencement of the term will be subjected to approval and additional fees may apply.

 

  • Students are allowed to defer up to a maximum period of one (1) year, failing which he/ she may be deemed to have withdrawn from the course and would have to re-apply as a new applicant if he/she wishes to register on the course again. The refund policy will be applicable.

 

  • Students must settle all outstanding / overdue payment prior to the application of deferment.  All subsequent installments would follow the payment schedule of the new class the student is resuming.

 

  • Deferment can be extended to another one (1) year with valid reasons, subject to approval.

 

  • International students who are approved for deferment will be required to cancel their student passes as required by ICA.

 

  • Approval for deferment is at the sole discretion of MDIS Pte Ltd. The Institute will assess and reply to any request for deferment within a time frame of not more than four (4) weeks.

Expulsion and Disciplinary Matters

The withdrawal and refund policy stated in the Standard PEI-Student Contract applies should any student be expelled from the course by the Management, Director of Academic Affairs and / or by the University due to:
• Poor performance in his / her examinations
• Poor attendance
• Cheating and Plagiarism

Students may also be expelled due to misconduct and inappropriate behaviour such as smoking, drinking, drug offence, vandalism, mischief and / or theft, etc.  The MDIS Pte Ltd (and MDIS College Pte Ltd) reserves the right to discipline or expel any student who breaks the institute's rules, or who, in the opinion of the Management, is guilty of misconduct prejudicial to the interests of the Institute, and its students.
