It has offered a range of\ncareer selections for enthused and energetic individuals who want to make a\npositive impact to the community. Two possible careers within the healthcare\nindustry are nursing and health care science. The main difference between these\ntwo careers is that nurses primarily provide direct bedside care to patients\nwhile health science professionals work in hospital administration departments,\npharmaceutical industries and other health related organisations. Nursing is one of the most\nsought after professionals and have a variety of different career options.\nThere is a large demand for nurses who provide bedside care to patients in\nsettings like nursing care facilities, nursing homes and hospitals. Nurses who\nhave advanced degrees can attain positions as nursing or health service\nmanagers. They plan and coordinate the delivery of health services and may\nmanage a department or an entire facility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-nursing-education\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nursing_Education\"><\/span><strong>Nursing\nEducation<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdis.edu.sg\/school-of-health-and-nursing\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Degree opportunities in nursing (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Degree opportunities in nursing<\/a> range from associate degrees and certificate programmes to doctorates in nursing practice. All nursing curricula have a core science requirement, including subjects such as biology, chemistry, human anatomy and nursing practical skills. As students advance through the bachelor\u2019s and post graduate programmes, the courses expand to cover specialised areas like midwifery, oncology, emergency nursing, mental and geriatric care. The Bachelor\u2019s programmes normally take two to four years and prepare graduates to become registered nurses. An additional two years in a master\u2019s programme qualifies graduates to become nursing practitioners, nursing managers and directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-career-in-healthcare-science\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Career_in_Healthcare_Science\"><\/span><strong>Career\nin Healthcare Science <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A\ndegree in healthcare science is designed to prepare students to become healthcare\nprofessionals working in a hospital administrative setting, nursing schools or\npharmaceutical companies. Graduates from healthcare science programmes may write\nand develop teaching materials and curricula for classroom learning, as well as\ninformational catalogues on health for distribution to the public. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-health-care-education\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Health_Care_Education\"><\/span><strong>Health\nCare Education<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The\nsyllabus in healthcare programmes combine a substantial number of health,\nsocial care, business, finance and public health policy topics. &nbsp;To learn the substance of health science\neducation, students pursue courses in chemistry and biology, as well as\nphysiology and human anatomy. These classes form the basis for courses like\nhuman physiology, drugs and culture, nutrition and community health.\nAdditionally, by exposing students to business, accounting and financial modules\nthey will be able to develop business plans, understand basic financial\nconcepts and draft financial statements for their respective healthcare\norganisations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Studying\npublic health law and policies will also allow students to comprehend the\ninteractions between social aspects, policy and health issues both locally and\ninternationally. They will be able to set a general action plan based on health\npolicies that are used to guide desired outcomes and fundamental guidelines to\nhelp in the process of decision making. Furthermore, ethics and law modules in\nthe healthcare management programme will allow students to know the importance\nof ethical standards through medico-legal aspects. Thus, students will have a\ndeeper understanding in promoting moral and social responsibility, patient\nwelfare and legal safety compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-conclusion\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For\nyears, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals have worked\ndiligently in improving the quality and services in healthcare.
