Primarily, it is known to all that good teaching\nrequires a teacher to be present in the classroom with his\/ her students. &nbsp;Most teachers enjoy their profession teaching\nin person because this gives them an opportunity to interact and engage with\nstudents with passion and enthusiasm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teachers also know when they teach in a classroom, they do\nnot leave students to play with their own devices. &nbsp;They want to be actively involved in the students\u2019\nlearning process, engaging in classroom activities. Most teachers come to class\nearly to set up for class. Teachers also prefer to take this opportunity to get\nto know individual students, talking one-on-one and interacting with a student\nwho may need extra support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic\nhas impacted on the learning community worldwide significantly. The coronavirus\nepidemic has also affected the daily lives of those across the globe. Schools have\nbeen closed after the Governments have put their countries in lockdown to\ncontain the spread of coronavirus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe speed and scale of the educational\ntumult caused by COVID-19 has impacted around 300 million students globally,\nthe United Nations said that this has little parallel in modern history.\u201d<sup>1<\/sup> The effect on education\nglobally will last for several weeks, months and may even be a year. Eventually\nthis will result in unforeseen consequences for the students and the society at\nlarge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, academic institutions have turned to\nconducting lessons online. To facilitate ease and continuity of learning, the MDIS\nSchool of Languages and Education has invested in \u201cZoom\u201d to launch its online\ntraining to schools in China, Vietnam and other countries.&nbsp; Lecturers are also being trained to deliver\nthe programmes to support overseas\nstudents\u2019 learning just as they would in a campus-based classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>1 <\/sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/03\/04\/world\/coronavirus-schools-closed.html\">&#8216;When Can We Go to School?&#8217; Nearly\n300 Million Children Are &#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Schools provide families, communities and entire economies with structure and support.
