The module introduces students to the role of accounting in business operations, statutory requirements for business to prepare accounts. It also covers on the purpose and the elements of a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. Students will be able to prepare financial statements for business enterprise at the end of the module.

The module equips students with fundamental concepts of computer, adequate knowledge of business computing concepts, hardware and software components, and information processing skills. The module introduces students to various behavioural disciplines contributing to organizational behaviour. It also covers the theory and concepts in analysing organizational issues and problems and to make informed decisions that will increase effectiveness and efficiency at the workplace.

The module provides students with a comprehensive insight into the law governing business activities. Students should have the knowledge to understand the basic, simple business contracts and the implications of legal situations. The content covers Contract Law; Consumer Protection’ Law of Insolvency’ Intellectual Property Law’ Land Law, etc.

It also imparts knowledge o how marketers manage demand and builds customers relationships’ understanding the challenges facing marketers in a globalised economy. The content covers Market Segmentation; Product Life Cycle; Distribution Channels and Marketing Communication Strategy, etc.
Internet & E-Commerce
The module provides students with an understanding of the internet and key concepts of e-commerce along with its implementations and impact on business. Students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the applications of the internet, explain e-commerce and its underlying concepts and principles, differentiate the different models and types of e-commerce applications and design a workable e-commerce website at the end of the module.
