The course contents include the history and contact of www., Arpanet, the Internet, TCP/IP, HTTP addressing and domain names; Use of web browser and search engine; Hypertext, HTML, DOM, and markup languages; Introduction to client programming e.g. JavaScript and Java; Introduction to sever programming e.g. CGI, Email, hosting, ISP, accounts, forwarding, video and audio streaming and basic web functionally.

This course is designed to provide the fundamental concepts in business accounting and financial management and the importance of the need, sources and used of funds. The students are expected to apply the analytical techniques learned in main areas of costing and financial decision making, i.e. financial statement analysis, budgetary planning and control, capital budgeting, product costing and short term cost-volume-profit relationship. The module will provide participants with a good knowledge of the basic principles of marketing and a sound grasp of the marketing concept and its application. Computing Project
The aim of this project is to provide participants with the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge gained from the various units in the development of a software or system to solve a practical problem. Participants are expected to analyse the problem and to design, document, implement and test the software or system, and review the project process and product. The selection of project and assignment of a supervisor to oversee this project process and product. The selection of project and assignment of a supervisor to oversee this project will be finalized in the 3rd term. The told of the supervisor is to guide students in the completion of the project and refer them to the right sources and reverences. The project must be submitted to MDIS seven weeks immediately after the 3rd semester examinations. All course participants will have to undertake a computing project as part of the requirement for successful completion of this course.
