Reaching out to the community with a Back to School Christmas party
Wrapping up MDIS’ corporate social responsibility efforts for 2016, a Back to School Christmas Party was organised by the Membership & Alumni Relations on 9 December 2016, with the help of Angel Heart Club members and staff volunteers.
SAMTAS Hall was transformed into a Christmas carnival with fun-filled carnival games, good food and lots of goodies. The party was specially organised for 120 less privileged and special needs children and their guardians. Everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously and the hall was filled with much joy and laughter.
Other than enjoying the planned activities, the children also received a special gift consisting of a school bag filled with essential stationeries and a pair of brand new school shoes. They can look forward to starting the new school year with a new bag and shoes.
One of the philosophies MDIS truly believes in is upholding the spirit of giving in whatever ways possible, as exemplified by its founders since its inception in 1956. Being the oldest not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning, MDIS has always been aware of its role as a caring corporate citizen and conscientiously reaches out to help the needy. We continue in our efforts to contribute back to society and help the less fortunate among us.
