Basic Mathematics
This unit covers the basic concepts of real number system, graphing linear equations, functions, solving systems of equations, inequalities, polynomials and rational expressions.
Communication Skills
This unit is designed to provide students with the necessary written and oral communication skills to enable them to relate to others on computing and non-computing matters. The students should also develop skills of acquiring, selecting and presenting information. It also encourages the development of sensitivity to and awareness of other people’s ideas and attitudes.
Programming Fundamentals
This unit provides with the introduction of application development using Visual Basic. It elaborates the content of Visual Basic features such as forms, variables, procedures, objects, control and structures.
Computing Skills
In this unit, students will be taught both the fundamental and advanced skills necessary to use the application packages. They will be exposed to real-world examples and procedures that will prepare them to be skilled users of Windows 2000, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. The software packages taught in this module are Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will also learn to use the Electronic Mail (e-mail) service.
