Faculty of Business and Law
The Edith Cowan University's Faculty of Business and Law is one of the largest and most diversified business schools in Australia. This portfolio of courses has been carefully planned to meet the demand of students, the community, and employers. The program is continually under review to reflect changes in demand for particular courses. Course development has recognised the changing patterns of commerce, industry and government, and has been alert to new and growing opportunities for graduate in business and the service professions. The planning and development of courses is undertaken by the faculty with expert advice of senior management and members of the professions in commerce and the public sector.
School of Accounting, Finance and Economics
The School has a strong practical orientation that equips students with the skills to find employment within their profession. Each year, new graduates are keenly sought by employers across Australia and the world. All courses within the School embrace generic skills such as oral and written communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities. In addition, the School places a strong emphasis on information technology.
The School is supported by a Consultative Committee, which includes members from practices, public sector and industry. This Committee takes a close interest in the accounting curriculum and the School's teaching resources to ensure the accounting units are relevant to industry and accounting practice. The School of Accounting is one of four schools within Edith Cowan University's Faculty of Business and Law.

The School of Computer and Information Science (SCIS) - A unit of ECU
SCIS incorporates areas of disciplines such as Computer Science, Information Science, Internet Computing, Information Services, library Technology, Software Engineering, games Programming, Mobile Computing, Computer Security and Communication and Information Technology.
SCIS recognises the need for students to identify new trends in software engineering, knowledge and information management, Internet computing, information science, mobile computing and computer science- and the importance of keeping students abreast of them.SCIS is currently developing units that will extend and develop the students knowledge of programming languages and courses dealing with knowledge management in the face of new developments in information dispersal and institutional infrastructure.
All courses at ECU's Computer Science department are related at Professional level (the highest for any institute to obtain) by the Australian Computer Society.
