The School of Technology and E-Learning (STEL) is one of the academic schools in MDIS and is tasked to focus on both the academic and professional educational development of modern Information Technology (IT) professionals.

Established in 2002, the School aims to help students in Singapore and throughout the region gain a foothold in the IT industry by providing a comprehensive suite of programmes that focus on a broad-based, holistic education that is technology-driven.

All programmes delivered through STEL are from well-accredited and renowned universities. The School works closely with employers and universities to ensure its programmes are relevant, rigorous and of a high quality. The curricula are regularly reviewed and updated to keep pace with current developments in the IT field; thereby ensuring that students are learning the latest syllabuses, topics and technologies. Students are also taught by lecturers who have more than 10 years of corporate and training experience with proven track record in passing rates.

True to its aim of providing a technology-driven education, STEL’s students are the first to embark on the MDIS’ Blackboard Learning Management System – an e-learning and community platform, where students can access lecturers’ notes, correspond with their lecturers and even view video-recorded classes for revision.

The School offers programmes in Information Technology, Computer Security, Network Administration and Design, Business Computing, Digital Media and Mobile Technology. It produces graduates who are able to secure advanced standing in many good universities worldwide, as well as graduates who are much sought after by the industry.

The School also offers two internationally recognised professional certifications, the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2003 and CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA), for working professionals who yearn to stay relevant and be kept abreast of changes in the IT field.
