As the first Independent Educational Organisation institution in Singapore to offer
Life Sciences programmes, the MDIS School of Life Sciences was established in 2001
to offer an avenue of success to all with the passion to excel in this immense and
fascinating field.
The School's up-to-date and rigorous programmes, offered in partnership with the
University of Bradford from the United Kingdom, will equip graduates with the knowledge
and skills they need to stay abreast of the exciting developments in the Life Sciences
and to embark upon arguably one of the most rewarding careers of all. Classroom-knowledge
aside, students will also gain hands-on experience in the school's state-of-art
laboratories, and can even get the chance to work on both in-house as well as commercial
research projects. The School has recently implemented the Occupational Health and
Safety Management system and the laboratories are now OHSAS 18001:2007 certified,
another first among private educational laboratories in Singapore.
With specialisations in pharmaceutical management, cellular and molecular pathology
and medical biochemistry, graduates can look forward to pursuing an enormous diversity
of careers in research and in clinical laboratories, as well as in the burgeoning
biomedical, pharmaceutical and biologics industries.
Life Sciences is, indeed, a life tool and one that can, properly acquired, carefully
nurtured and suitably applied, enable a career for life.
